James Jamerson

Allright, edu-tainment time.. AKA a little History.
Before there was rocksteady, reggae, sampling, hip hop, drum 'n bass, dubstep.. there was bass. In search of the heaviest bassline in the world. Introducing James Jamerson.

The Analog Social Club

Another soulful analog music discovery, thanks to my Lazy Rebel page:

The Analog Social Club - comprised of members Autodidactic & Eddie Leonard who share a love for vintage audio equipment and aged vinyl.

Smooth jazzy sounds, MPC 3000 sampled vibes ... soothing grooves for the heart and soul!

Avant la musique

I LOVE unheard music, anything under the radar, not on anyone's "let's mention this artist 'cos everybody else in my peer group does and maybe I'll get a promo or sumthing" list . Lazy Rebel Crew forever searching for that nexxt ish. Fuck a record deal. Just saying, we are staying avant-point.

You can listen to some more Mr. DiBiase at Huskyradio. Going overground with the Green Llamacrew, check the free download on their space. Raw shit. Keep my ear to the streets.

Another fresh discovery: Mancini and the Creepers, brittish innit! Lovely..

Don't believe the hype but Dan Le Sac & Scroobious Pip are proper too, especially on the lyrical side of things.

PS: don't call me a bartender.

More Beats + Is Radio Dead?

More Beats

Suff Daddy is that über-dope producer, another one to watch out for in 2009..

Here's his Space, where you can listen to his productions and download some dope mixes.
Check the Melting Pot Music website for mo' info!

And while you're at it, eating up those passed-on nuggets of mellow beats and greasy treats, dig in for some more at "The Circle Research Show".

Is Radio Dead?

Restrictive formats, same old songs, traffic interludes.. Does anyone still listen to the radio?
Seems like it's all about Podomatic and internet radio in the '09!

Of course Back to Niceness (presented by Myself and DJ Kwak) has the best of both worlds: aired live and on line at FMBrussel AND on the DL at Podomatic... ;)

Being that we all know about Laidback, Onda Sonora.. Samuari FM etc etc.. How about something new, like Implosief? Sista Jobee doin' her crazy thang and playing some quality stuff too boot!

And if you're really charged, like, hook up the Lazy Rebel Radio, dude.

Very much worth a smooth deep housy listen, Nick Blow's mix Ode To Freedom.

I'm out like a trout.
